How safe is it to walk from Brigsten’s restaurant to the Maple Leaf Bar in Carrollton?
Will be leaving Brigsten’s around 8 or 9 and headed to the Maple Leaf. After the Maple Leaf should we take a cab to the Quarter or the trolley? Is the neighborhood of Carrollton generally safe?

That part of the Carrollton neighborhood is OK – the parts closer to Claiborne (well on the other side of Oak Street) are not OK, but you don’t go there walking to the Maple Leaf from Brigsten’s..
However, it isn’t a short walk. The restaurant to the Maple Leaf is about 1/3 of a mile. It will also be warm & humid. If you are wearing dress clothing and especially if you are with someone wearing high-ish heels you should take a taxi.
The Maple Leaf is about two long blocks from Carrollton, which is where the streetcar stop is located. Taking the streetcar to the FQ fine, but the ride is about 45 minutes. Also, the streetcar only runs once an hour after midnight and delivers you to the Canal Street edge of the FQ. If your destination is deeper in the FQ you may want to take a taxi unless the extra walking is OK..
