Another type of roofing shingles are metal shingles. These roofing shingles are very durable but are very expensive most especially the copper shingles. You may also opt to use tile or ceramic roofing shingles. These are very good on areas where weather is always warm, but is not a good idea cold climate. And just like metal roofing shingles, they can be very expensive as well.
Another very common type of roofing shingles is the architectural roofing shingles. These are durable roofs which are made from quality materials. These could last from 30 to 75 years and could withstand different weather conditions. These are not very expensive but also not cheap. It could resist wind up to 120 mph and could resist fire as well.
After knowing the different types of roofing shingles, you may now have an idea as to what fits your home best based on your location and budget. But always remember, that it is not good to choose roofing shingles based on budget alone. You must consider the durability and the life span of the roofing shingles.
