Taking A Look At A Hundred Years Of Alternative Energy Generation

The Tesla magnetic generator that we are familiar with at this time comes directly from a drastically innovative means for generating electrical energy that Nikola Tesla was working on way back in about 1894. Remember that it is almost a hundred years since Nikola Tesla copyrighted his fuelless electrical generator during a period when there was a considerable amount of controversy and competition among the recently formed electrical energy companies.
Tesla’s patents for electricity generators together with motors were awarded in the late 1880’s but it was nearly 10 years later that the large electrical power industry was organized. Two of the major power organizations were Westinghouse and General Electric and they invested enormous sums of money straight into plant and equipment to make a very profitable business in producing electricity to businesses as well as homeowners. These people were not about to risk their achievements and investments with the introduction of a significantly better and revolutionary process for generating electrical power.
There is a lot of real information in the form of academic documents and letters that report Tesla’s diverse electrical innovations. In the 1880’s he trademarked the alternating electric current generator, motor and transformer. All through the 1890’s Tesla had been working on alternative means of generating power including a charged particle collector which he patented in 1901.
Tesla applied for a patent for an “apparatus for the Usage of Radiant Energy”, number 685957 on March 21 1901 and this was approved on November 5 later the same year. Several years later in 1909 Tesla registered a patent for a Turbine and then a little while later a Dynamo Electric machine. All the research points to the turbine fashioned Unipolar Dynamo as turning out to be Tesla’s very first structure for a machine that can continue to deliver electricity after being shut off from the outside power source.
The New York Times ran a story in 1902 regarding an developer who claimed that he had invented an electricity generator which did not require an outside energy supply. At this point Tesla wrote to a good friend claiming that he had yet invented such a device.
Nikola Tesla proclaimed in the Brooklyn Eagle on July tenth, 1931 that he had harnessed the cosmic radiation and induced them to operate a motive device and while in the exact same document he reported that he had been concentrating on this device for more than 25 years and that he had now been successful.
A few years later in 1933 a write-up in the New York American under the title of “Device to Harness Cosmic Power Reported by Tesla” Tesla explained that “this new power for the operating of the world’s machines would be created from the energy which operates the universe, this cosmic power, whose fundamental resource for the earth is the sun and which is everywhere present in unlimited quantities”.
It is unfortunate that Nikola Tesla’s inventions had not been commercialized at the time because the newly founded electricity companies and influential financiers were reluctant to change over to the alternating electrical system since they had already spent heavily in direct current electrical plants.
The necessity for the introduction of new and renewable resources for fuel is far greater now than it was towards the end of the last century. Tesla’s plans for increasing human power by means of the sun’s power is finally becoming a reality
