Gas smell from vintage brass lamp?
I have recently purchased an old brass lamp with glass shade. It works fine but there is a gap between the fitting and the shade. I have noticed a smell (like gas) coming from the fitting when it is on. Can anyone please lend any ideas what this smell might be and if it is harmful (it is not an electrical burning smell but more of a gas). Thanks.
