How do I keep my nails from flaking?
My nails flake off into layers when I try to grow them out, and even when they are short. This makes them really thin at the tips, and I end up peeling the tips off. Also, I get a lot of those white spots on my nails. Is there any way I can keep them from flaking like this? (I don’t like dairy that much, but I try to eat a lot of calcium. I always have at least one glass of milk per day.)
It maybe a vitamin deficiency, it may be the clippers you’re using. Make sure theta are sharp and cut straight across. Since your nails are week use a light grain nail file to shape them. A course one will tear your nails apart. Use cuticle creams or just lotion to keep your cuticle healthy. Health nails start with healthy cuticles. Use clear nail polish as a protectant so your nails can grow out without the pealing. Once they have grown out, cut them. I know it sucks but the more you cut them, the more the nail has the chance to repair and to grow out strong and healthy. Give yourself an at home manicure at least once a week. If you keep ip with it you will see improvement. My nails used to be very weak and break all the time. I did this for about 6 months and now my nails grow out super strong and they are so health it looks like I have a French manicure even when I’m not wearing polish.
