CES 2011 Begins Year Of The Tablet In Las Vegas As Apple Remains Home
Tablets will dominate the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show that begins in LV January 6. As usual, smartphones and gaming technology will make a lot of noise. However, Consumer Electronics Show 2011 opens as what is being called the “year of the tablet” begins without the dominant player -Apple’s iPad- in the collection.
How Apple can upstage Consumer Electronics Show 2011
CES 2011, based on previews proliferating on the web, will resemble Consumer Electronics Show 2010. A Microsoft windows tablet never got up and going after last year’s annual technology trade show showed this tablet. The iPad was announced a few weeks later by Apple. The iPad hit stores in April, and more than 14 million have been sold. Jan 6 is when CES 2011 could be introduced. Then, devices can be introduced for attention by several more tablet manufacturers. This is the day the Mac App Store will start. It’s starting up too. Many tech pundits expect Steve Jobs will upstage the also-rans at Consumer Electronics Show 2011 by using the occasion to preview Apple’s iPad 2.
The struggle to catch up with Apple
At Consumer Electronics Show 2011, several PC and mobile phone manufacturers want to try and catch up to Apple. The feature for Samsung could be the Galaxy tablet. Apparently 1 million units have already been sold. Brands like Hewlett-Packard, Motorola, Dell, Toshiba, Acer, ASUS, and Research in Motion (RIM) will all be unveiling tablets. The players have some success ahead, analysts suggest, because of the IPad success. Apple does not have to contend with all the cheap imitations of its system. They’re all just trying to have the cheapest price on their machines.
Things to show up at CES 2011
CES 2011 might be all about tablets; however smartphones will also make headlines with devices that continue to promise cable-caliber high speed internet connections that have been promised since Consumer Electronics Show 2010. There can be new phones introduced for Verizon’s 4G high-speed LTE network. They’ll be introduced by Motorola, HTC and others. The Internet connected TVs can be a large thing this year. Also, cars and household appliances that can take command from owners will be introduced.
