20 Dollar Coin
The largest ever regular difficulty United States coin was the twenty dollar coin and took place following the invention of huge gold reserves in 1848 California. It was referred to as the $20 “double eagle” because the $10 coin, first minted in 1795, was known as the “eagle”.
