Whats the going price for gold grains?
“5 GRAIN 24K PURE SOLID GOLD BULLION” Whats the current market price of this?
I saw it selling on a website for $38 + $4 shipping.
A grain is 1/480th of a troy ounce. With gold now at about $1,600/oz. that makes it worth $3.33 per grain. 5 grains are worth about $16.70 and gold would have to rise to over $4,000/oz. for you to break even, when you include the shipping charge. That offer is a lousy deal.
Number of grains in one ounce:
Avoirdupois (standard US and Imperial measure): 437.5 grains = 1 ounce
Troy (used for measuring precious metals): 480 grains = 1 ounce
NOTE: Avoirdupois measure has 16 ounces to one pound while Troy has 12 ounces to one pound.
