What is the physical difference between different karat sizes of GOLD and why are there different prices?
I realize the larger the number, the bigger the price if, for instance, you have two pieces of gold that weigh the same but are different karat sizes, one will cost more than the other, but why?
And what is a karat anyway (if I’m even spelling it correctly)?
24k is almost pure gold. 18k is 75% gold, 14k is 58% gold, and 10k is 41% gold. The gold is mixed with other metals. karat is how gold is weighed. Obviously the more gold that there is, the higher the cost.
