Labor Day
Has anyone ever taken a float trip in Missouri after labor day?

I am thinking about planning a float trip in Missouri, but it will be after labor day. Has anyone ever taken a float trip after labor day. Is it crowded like during the summer? I dont want to be the only people on the river. I want to have a good time but if its not worth it then I think we might pass. Any experience/advice would be great. Thanks

I have ran the Jacks Fork, Current and Eleven Point during all times of the year. There are still plenty of folks on the river after Labor Day. Call the outfitters (there are only a few per river on these streams because they are government regulated) and see how many reservations they have. They get some walk up business, but the large groups usually reserve. Remember to ask about the water levels. You are generally good on the Eleven Point below Greer, the lower end of Jacks Fork and the Current down around the JF. The nicest float (IMO) is the upper end of the JF during the winter.
