Best way to get water out of gas?
I just bought a 1998 boat/motor setup and the whole thing is in mint condition. The previous owner said that before he stored it last winter he put marine stabil in the gas. I added some new gas to it because the can was half full. I took it out to camp and it seem to run great. I went to head to the landing to take it out and on my way across the lake the motor stopped. I was able to get it running after a bit and got going again but it stopped again. I got it running a 3rd time and as it started to cut out I pulled the choke out some and then put it back in and the motor kept running. I did this a few times until I made it to shore. Does this sound like water in the gas and if so what is recommended in order to fix the issue?
I have a BAJA FUEL FILTER.. and have had it for years.. It has 3 FILTERS in it, one of which is so fine mesh that it will separate out WATER. You can BUY a BAJA FUEL FILTER for about $40 and it’s great for ANY kind of fuel.. gas or diesel. When i had an RV I even used it when I filled up the tank in a service station.
Just pump or siphon the fuel out of your tank and run it through a BAJA FUEL FILTER to clean it up
Check out WEST MARINE or look online for a BAJA FUEL FILTER.. they are CHEAP and an absolutely mandatory piece of equipments for filling the tanks in the Caribbean or MEXICO
