Because McDonald’s Canada is a separate company than McDonald’s Corporation.
While owned by the US McDonald’s Corporation, McDonald’s Canada was setup in order to simplify doing business in Canada. The Canadian company is not publicly traded and, as a separate company, it is not permitted to use the same logo as McDonald’s Corporation.
