Why does my loose leaf paper curl up when I write on it?
It’s very annoying. I’ll be taking notes on a sheet and then it will curl up into a cylinder. Argh!
I’m not sure, but I think it’s because the moisture from your hands makes the paper moist; when that moisture evaporates, it causes the upper surface of the sheet to shrink a little, causing the curl.
An interesting experiment would be to don rubber gloves and try writing on the paper, and see if it still curls.
