What Canadians see a maple leaf, does it make them feel proud, or do they just think of it as a leaf?
I wondered this when I watched the giant giant maple leafs at the Olympics closing ceremonies. When I see a bald eagle, it makes me feel a sense of patriotism as it is America’s national symbol, so I was wondering if maple leafs have the same effect for Canadians.
Good Question.
When I see a maple tree in real life, yes I just think it is a leaf.
When I see a maple leaf on a shirt or in reference to my country, yes I feel proud!
Us Canadians are not a real partriotic country, and what you may have seen on tv during the olympics was a first for our country. As a vancouverite who went downtown often during the games, I have never ever ever seen anything like it ever. Well atleast in my life time. I sure hope from now on our Flag and its entity will mean a lot more to us, then it did before.
Thank you for making me think about it! eh!
