Is the Marine Corp like Full Metal Jacket?
Yes and no. Keep in mind that the movie was made a good forty years ago and boot camp has changed a lot since then. A lot of the things that their Drill Instructor did to them are punishable offenses nowadays, but what they did get right is the way their Drill Instructor acted. If anything, he goes kinda easy on them compared to how real DIs treat recruits. And yes, every platoon has it’s own Private Pyle(s) who suck at everything.
