Mini Coins
I bought a mini winchester multi tool and have not really used it because it is so hard to open?

Hello,
Does anyone know if there is a way to make a multi tool open easier?
The one I bought is a Winchester mini multi tool (wooden handle) and it is so hard to open. I really haven’t used it for that reason, bummer!
It is a cute little tool and it seems it would be useful, if I could only open it without having to use a coin or something like that.
Is lubrication an option?

Thanks,
LS

Unfortunately it is because these Winchester knives/tools are built rather cheaply. Lubrication is an option; use something like a silicone spray or WD-40, but use only a very little. Excess oil will attract dirt and dust, and will only make it open harder later on.

The other option is to see if their is an adjustment bolt right at the hinge point of the tools/blades. This is the point at which the tools swivel out. This is often a hex-key (Alan wrench) bolt, and can be loosened or tightened slightly to adjust the opening of the tools/blades. If you don’t have the tools, just take the multitool down to the local Walmart, hardware or auto parts store, and someone can help you find the right one.

Tools to fix your tools, hmmmm…. Usually spending a little more on the initial investment is well worth it :)

Good luck and God bless!
