Graded coin question (PCGS, NGC)?
I’m looking into submitting some proof coins for grading but I have a few questions. I have already bought some graded PR69 coins from PCGS and they seem flawless in my eyes but when I started asking around people told me that they use a loupe to find scratches etc. on a coin. My question is what is their standard on flawless? and how powerful of a loupe do I need? I have had people who told me X10 and others who said X30 so now I want to look at my coins and make sure its worth my time submitting them.
Most of the time the difference between PR69 and PR70 is really the luck of the grade (assuming they are flawless and DCAM). In reality they’re pretty much identical. The frost and cameo should be extremely complete and not weak in any spots. To be honest I would just be happy with the PR69. The only reason people try for a 70 is the profit.
