Is a 1oz gold coin the same value as an ounce of gold flakes, nuggets and bullions?
Bullion is also a coin. It is also a bar as well. Gold flakes and nuggets are not worth as much because they are not pure gold. Nuggets and flakes haven’t been refined, graded, and assayed. In many cases nuggets can be worth more to a jeweler but on the gold market as it pertains to investors, jewelery and raw gold cannot be easily recognized as to their real value. Part of what makes gold money is the labor it takes to refine and stamp the gold into a recognizable form.
