i have a test tomorrow in chem and i dont know what to do with this world problem.
In the first stop of refining zinc metal from its zinc sulfide ore, the ore is heated in the presence of oxygen. The products are solid zinc oxide and sulfur dioxide gas.
what do they mean by “heated “. Do i put Co2 or something ?
I think that when they say “in the prescence of” they mean added with…right ?

When something is heated in the air, O2 is a reactant unless otherwise indicated. CO2 is the product. Heating is combustion.
