Scrap Cpu
My computer isn’t acting right can someone please help?

The problem my cpu usage likes to go to 100% and I don’t know what piece of hardware is going does anyone have experience in this situation? I would like to upgrade my processor and I think that is possibly the problem but am not sure. If someone knows ways of finding out whats going wrong with your computers hardware please tell me. Also I can’t just scrap it and get a new one I can’t afford a new one so either I am fixing the problem in this one or I have to put all new hardware. So someone please let me know what it could be. Also before it started someone fell on the computer then it started acting up almost a month later.
Thanks
A few of you suggest running virus checks I already have done this and did not find any problems with it. Its gotta be hardware related sometimes it the cpu usage jumps up and down just idling.

I don’t believe upgrading processor is the problem.

System memory might not be enough for your system. I hear more people complains after installing Service Pack 2 because it take little more on the system memory.

I recommend at least between 512mb to 1GB.
