What is my silver coin?
I have a silver coin that is very worn. I can only make out D.G BRITANNIA on the back. It has a man’s head with distinctive spiky hair. on the front is what looks like a wide t-shirt shape with two tassels coming off each side. I can make out the bottom of a crest in the middle. It’s bigger than an inch
Since your coin does have the word BRITANNIA, it is most certainly a British coin. Many silver issue British coins have a diameter larger than an inch (25.4 millimeters). My best guess is a half crown of George IV (1831-1837). Please check out the links below for additional information.
