I’m presently overseas & will be returning to the US soon. I’m a US citizen working on starting a small import business. I plan to carry about $800 worth of silver & gem jewelry from India. I have most of the receipts & will declare everything in full. The jewelry is mostly for samples & I will probably sell some in which case I will indicate that it is commercial merchandise.

At this point, will I be required to provide anything else? As I’ve been overseas & I’m just beginning, I haven’t registered the business & don’t have a federal id yet.

I just want to make sure I do this right & don’t have any problems at airport customs… thanks for sharing your knowledge!
