wanting to melt down sterling silver?
trying to find a cheap way of melting down sterling silver for casting into bars.already have crucible and ingot mold.just lacking a way of melting it
You need something that will generate 1,640°F (879°C) minimum, the melting point of common sterling silver.
But you’re in luck… your common Home Depot butane torch can reach around 2,500°F (1,400°C). Small ones start around $12 and go on up as you get larger.
