1892 mexican coin, out band I assume is silver and a Gold or ? inset in the center. It says ” N$2 ” on 1 side.?
backside looks to be a Hawk with a snake in the mouth along with other images on the inset. Many other images around the outer silver band. Next to the ” N$2 ” on the inset is a very small ” O ” on top of a ” M “. Any feed back would greatly appreciated.
The N$2 is a dead giveaway that the coin is dated 1992 not 1892. They did not use that back then. The N stands for new peso. The coin has an eagle with a snake in it’s mouth, that means as much to the Mexican people as Liberty and the eagle on U.S. coins. There is 13.3 pesos to the dollar so it is not worth much. They can be found in a coin dealers world coin box for around .25 cents. The coin is bimetallic so it is collectible by those collectors that collect that type. It is made of an outer ring of stainless steel and an inner ring of aluminum-bronze. Silver outer color and a gold inner color.
