who would win in a fight………..?
a silver back gorilla or a rhino in the open
The rhino would dominate, one because in the open it would trample and gore the gorilla who does not have the ability to leap over the rhino. Also, it is not in the gorilla’s fighting style to dodge or attempt to avoid the enemy unless in full retreat, so the roughly 500 pound gorilla would quickly be in a head on collision with a 1500 pound rhino. Then the gorilla would ineffectively try to hug and bite the rhino while the rhino gored it. It’s a simple matter of physics combined with the animals’ fighting style.
Some people might argue that the gorilla would win because they imagine it would be more crafty and fight like a ninja, leaping about and using fancy moves like trying to snap the rhino’s neck or jump on it’s back or something like that out of a CGI movie, but that is a complete fantasy.
Rhinos are nearsighted, not blind. They see quite well in the 0′-30′ range. Another way to look at this is to ask yourself who would win in a battle between a gorilla and a lion? It is a fact that even a hunting group of lions cannot take down an adult rhino. Check out some videos on youtube and realize how agile and incredibly huge a rhino is. I doubt a group of 4 silverbacks could take down a single rhino. What are they going to do, they haven’t the proper teeth to puncture it’s hide, they can’t get their arms around it, they do not utilize punching and kicking strikes like a human ninja. Thinking it would be REMOTELY possible for a silver back to beat a rhino is simply a display of ignorance. Rhinos intimidate ELEPHANTS.
