Where can I find out the value of a silver menorah in NYC?
I’m trying to sell an item for a friend, but I have no clue what it’s worth. It’s rather unique – it’s a menorah that’s partly shaped like a treble clef and has a music box in the bottom. I think it might be silver or silver-plated, but I really have no idea about this sort of thing, so I’m wondering if there’s anywhere in NYC where I could take it to find out its value. Any ideas?
if it’s sterling silver it’s valuable. it will be marked .925 or sterling somewhere. if not, it’s plated and unless it was designed by someone famous, it won’t be worth a lot. you might want to show it to s silversmith or silver repair place and get some idea of it’s value.
