Sunshine Minting
Are these Coins Worth Anything?

I have 5 from 1985, they are all uncirculated
Sunshine Silver,.999 Fine Silver, One Troy ounce, Picture of an Eagle in flight on front.
Thanks!

Also, I have 2 from 1981
The back says One Oz. Fine Silver, .999+, 1981, from top to bottom.
The front is another eagle in flight

I have 5 more from 1981
The back says, Minted From US. Strategic Stockpile Silver, formerly stored at, U.S. ASSAY OFFICE, San Fransisco
The front is an eagle with a flag, and wheat on the left and right, silver trade unit, 31.1 grams

Are these worth more than my original post? Not uncirculated, but they have been stored in a box for 20 years though :)

These are called silver rounds, not coins, because they are not government-issued money. They are popular with the small-time bullion investor, who will pay a few dollars above the spot price of silver at the time of purchase. Dealers will try to get them for 90% of the spot price, or less.

The spot price of silver as of today’s close in New York was $34.72, so your 12 ounces has a ‘melt’ value of around $417. If you were to sell them as one lot on eBay, you might get as much as $450. But the fees will run about 12%, bringing your net down to a little under $400. Local dealers would probably offer around $350 – $375. Less money, but fast, easy cash in your pocket.

I went back to look for the ‘original post’. There are no mint marks. These are privately-minted; the US Mint does not make them.
