How important are speaker cabinets when it comes to guitar tone.?
I’ve got a modified vintage Marshall plexi, a Jimmy Page Gibson Les paul replica. Monster guitar cable, 600 dollar preamp, Eddie Van Halen Phase 90, Herco Flex 75 picks, and vintage 1959 PAF pickups. All I need to buy now is a set of speakers. My pocket is now drained due to all the gear i bought above. Will my tone suffer badly if i settle for a 200 dollar cabinet Vs. a 1000 dollar one? What should I go for and what would you recommend?
You can pretty much achieve the same effects with the cheaper cab using distortion effects pedals.
