I have been doing alot of reading about the DTaP vaccination.?
I read that the DTaP shot was one of the shots that was causing alot of problems and even death in some infants. I read on (mercola.com) that if you do vaccinate your babies DO NOT let the doctor use the multi-dose vials that contain the DTaP shot. It said tell the doctor that you want the DTaP shot given in the single-dose vials because the multi-dose vials are the ones that contain thimerosal (mercury). It said the single-dose vials are thimerosal free. So I was wondering have any of you heard about this and if so do the multi-dose vials still contain thimerosal. Please respond quick because my son has to go get his four month shots tomorrow and he has to get the DTaP shot. Im scared to death after reading all I’ve read about vaccinations.
The multi-dose vials of DTaP are no longer used in the United States. There are 3 different brands of the DTaP vaccine in the United States. Infanrix and DAPTACEL contain no mercury. Tripedia contains 0.3 mcg of mercury, which they say is a “trace” amount. All are in single dose vials. Pediarix, Pentacel, and TriHIBit are DTaP combined with other vaccines. Pediarix and Pentacel contain no mercury. TriHIBit contains 0.3 mcg of mercury.
Mercury is certainly not the only problem or danger with vaccines. A mercury-free vaccine is not necessarily safe.
Your son does NOT have to get the DTaP shot tomorrow. He doesn’t have to get another shot ever again, if you don’t want him to. Vaccine exemptions are available for school and daycare. http://www.mothering.com/discussions/showthread.php?t=953402
