It is a fact, that falling from a height can cause the heart to seize. It is considered to be a safety mechanism for the body to shut down before it gets hurt. Just in the same way that sometimes in a dream, you fall from a height, you wake up with a pound in your heart.
The theory is proven by people who are drunk when they fall and seem to get up unscathed, because the body was more relaxed.
